Steam PvP Fest 2026

Third global playtest window, festival access, and competitive feedback priorities.

GunZ The Duel at Steam PvP Fest

MasangSoft brought GunZ: The Duel to Steam PvP Fest in February 2026 with the game’s third global playtest. Unlike invite-only closed waves, the festival format widened access so more PvP-focused players could stress-test matchmaking, netcode, and core duel flow while GunZ sat alongside other competitive titles on Valve’s showcase.

This page documents the official window, how participation worked through Steam’s playtest system, and what MasangSoft said it was watching during the festival — stability, combat feel, and real-time PvP performance at scale.

Playtest window

According to MasangSoft’s Games Press announcement:

  • Start: February 9, 2026 at 18:00 PST
  • End: February 15, 2026 at 18:00 PST
  • Platform: Steam playtest branch via App 3139440

Players joined through the standard Steam Request Access / playtest flow once the branch went live. No third-party launcher was required — a major quality-of-life shift compared to legacy GunZ distribution.

Why PvP Fest mattered

The first two global playtests proved GunZ could log players in and move bodies around remaster maps. Playtest three shifted emphasis toward festival-scale PvP:

  1. Matchmaking throughput — can EU, NA, and APAC queues populate without five-minute waits?
  2. Movement integrity under load — do Butterfly, Slash Shot, and Wall Cancel behave identically at peak concurrency?
  3. Combat readability — outline toggles, HP bar colors, and multi-kill feedback from playtest two under real duel pressure
  4. Crash and desync rates when rooms fill with mixed-skill parties

MasangSoft stated that specific gameplay patch lists would arrive closer to the playtest start. We mirror confirmed notes on playtest two patch log and the beta tracker as primary references.

What changed since playtest two

The December 2025 second global playtest shipped a substantial changelog — many items directly affect K-Style players:

AreaNotable change
NetcodeImproved tick rate, smoother network performance
SettingsAdjustable FOV slider, anti-lead 0–100
Combat UIMulti-kill indicators, toggleable enemy outlines
MovementCamera lock removed during wall running
QoLRelaxed room start rules, improved AFK detection
FixesHP/AP display, scoreboard, map clipping

Playtest three built on that foundation rather than resetting systems. Competitive players were asked to validate whether those fixes held when Steam PvP Fest traffic spiked.

How to prepare for festival playtests

Before any global window opens:

During the festival, file structured bug reports: region, map, mode, GPU, and a short clip. Movement regressions belong in the Movement bucket on our beta tracker checklist.

Relationship to other test phases

GunZ’s 2025–2026 test calendar now includes:

Steam PvP Fest (third)Feb 9–15, 2026This page
Fourth beta testConcluded May 12, 2026Fourth beta recap

Each phase narrows unknowns before the 2026 remaster launch. None replace daily practice — festival access is a snapshot, not a rank.

After the festival ends

When the branch closes, compare your notes with official Steam news posts. Did matchmaking improve? Did any movement tech feel different on Arena or Mansion stairs? Update your clan docs and cross-link weapons tier list if TTK shifted.

Missed the window? Wishlist remains the strongest signal for future invites. Open festival tests sometimes return during seasonal Steam events.
